North West brewer and pub group, Joseph Holt, are well known for their community spirit and work with local charities. For 2020/2021 we were fortunate to be chosen as one of the charities for their ‘six charities appeal’; alongside other foodbanks and food projects in the area. The time period for the appeal was extended into 2022 due to COVID.

All pubs across the group took on a range of fundraising challenges including a sponsored walk from Manchester to Southport, the Manchester 10k, a staff boules tournament and craft fairs.

The appeal raised an incredible £130,000 overall, which was split equally between the six charities. This impressive sum of money comes to us at a time when we are seeing surging demand for our services, as more and more people are affected by the cost of living crisis. The donation will help us meet increased need, at the same time as continuing our work to try to make this need a thing of the past.

Thank you to everyone at Joseph Holt, all of the staff in their pubs, and all of their customers for your huge generosity. It’s an inspiration and really goes to show what communities can achieve together even in such challenging times.

A special thanks also to our local Joseph Holt pubs, The Imperial and The Richmond, for going the extra mile to help us out by providing meals for our summer holiday club last year.
