Compassion Acts runs Southport Foodbank from six distribution centres across the area (see below). Foodbank provides emergency food for people at crisis point, with prepacked bags containing around 3-4 days’ worth of mostly long-life items. We follow Trussell Trust guidelines to keep every parcel consistent.
Foodbank is not a long-term solution. If you need ongoing support, please consider joining our Food Pantry membership.

Foodbank doesn’t have to feel daunting, even if you’ve never used us before. Our friendly volunteers are here to support you and help ensure you leave feeling in a better place than when you arrived.
Welfare advisors are also available at every Foodbank location, offering support and guidance with any money concerns you may be facing.
Our Foodbanks are for anyone that may be in financial crisis and cannot afford food, regardless of their normal circumstances. It doesn’t matter whether you work full time, part time, claim benefits or none of these things. We help people from all different backgrounds and for many different reasons.
Absolutely not! We know that the reasons people turn to the Foodbank are usually out of their control and can happen to anyone. Our staff and volunteers are all friendly and non judgemental – they want to help you.
If you’ve tried to get a referral and not been able to please contact us and we can issue you a voucher directly. Call us or email before you turn up to a Foodbank and we will get you sorted.
We will always try to offer you further support and address the reason you are at Foodbank (such as benefits or debt advice), but should you not wish to share any information with us then that is okay too. Anything you tell staff or volunteers is completely confidential.
Yes. Although we adhere to Trussell Trust guideline on how many parcels we can give a person in a certain time, we will never refuse to help anyone who is in need. If you are struggling then just contact us or speak to your usual referrer.
Our parcels are pre-packed with long-life goods, such as tinned veg, fruit and meat. Items cannot be chosen but we always do our best to cater towards specifi dietary requirements and allergies.
