Since Spring 2022 Compassion Acts has had a base right at the heart of Southport Town Centre in Cambridge Walks. The concept of our project ‘The Community Hub’ was to reach people who we may not normally with informal advice and some friendly support. It would also accommodate our Uniform Hub project. We were very grateful for the funding partnership from Trussell.
This funding has come to an end, and therefore the trustees of Compassion Acts have taken the reluctant decision to end the project and relocate the informal support provided there on Tues-Thurs across to our Sussex Road Headquarters.
There will be a celebration event to thank key partners and anyone who has used the Hub on 11th March 2025 between 11am and 2pm.
“We have learned a lot from this experimental project,” says Richard Owens, CEO of Compassion Acts, “it has been a really positive experience, but sadly due to funding constraints and some budgetary pressures we have had to change things. People can still reach us via telephone, online and face to face at our Sussex Road headquarters.”
However we are pleased to announce that there will be a new home for our UNIFORM HUB project and it is only a few short steps away!
From April the new Uniform Hub will be open Wednesday to Friday at 9-11 Cambridge Walks.
Nicola Alcock from the Uniform Hub says, “Myself and the team are delighted with the new space which will enable us to serve more people and it will be good to collaborate with a community of other creatives and traders in that part of Cambridge Walks.”
The charity is seeking financial support/sponsorship from funders to cover the overheads of the Uniform Hub in the future. Contact hello@compassionacts.uk if you would like to help keep this important resource going for many years ahead.

The last opening day of the Community Hub for general support etc will be Thursday 13th March . The last opening day of the Uniform Hub at 17 Cambridge Walks will be Friday 14th March.

Southport Town Centre will remain a key location for the charity with the relaunched Uniform Hub space further along the arcade (from April) , the Southport Food Pantry at Grace Baptist Church near the Market and our monthly community Market at Christ Church, Lord Street – in addition to our foodbank distribution sites on Shakespeare Street and the Promenade.
