We want to bring people together from local neighbourhoods, uniting them with the resources and passion of local churches and other organisations – for projects and interventions, which achieve real enhancements in the social wellbeing of families and individuals.

We want to see an end to poverty, hunger and the need for Foodbanks in Southport and nationally
Our Mission

Our Strategy
In 2025 we have launched our new strategy called ‘Thriving Lives’
This builds upon our previous preventative strategy called Going Upstream (see below)
As a poverty reduction charity, we know that it is essential to support those in need, but more importantly we also need to find the root the causes of their problems and what led them to the position of needing such support, then put measures in place to prevent this.
Thriving Lives is all about going deeper and improving the performance of Compassion Acts. It is based on the thought that all of us deserve to do well, not to be fobbed off simply with well meaning advice to ‘be more resilient’ against inevitable future crises. What our communities, households and individuals need is to live healthier, happier and more prosperous lives.
“There comes a time when we need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream and find out why they’re falling in.”
– Archbishop Desmond Tutu
