We’re excited to announce that the Sefton Council Marine Lakeside Events Centre (MLEC) Project Team has successfully collected a number of ‘Back to School’ kits to support local families with costs. A special thanks goes out to AFL Architects and DSM, who helped by donating materials and 45 school bags.
Over the past year, we’ve built a strong partnership with the MLEC team, with Tracy Holgate, the Conference and Sales Manager, offering continued support through volunteering, donations, and event involvement. We’re fortunate to have such valuable support.
The MLEC, opening in 2027, will be Sefton’s largest project, attracting over 500,000 visitors annually. Built on the Southport Theatre site, it will incorporate elements from the art deco Floral Hall. This development is central to Southport’s regeneration, positioning the town as a key destination for business, entertainment, and events.
The venue will host a range of events, including concerts, theatre, sports, and conferences. It will also feature the UK’s first daily Water & Light Show. ASM Global, which manages 14 other UK venues, will oversee operations. The MLEC is set to be a major asset for Southport’s future.
