Community Market

For ex-Food Pantry members who need ongoing support.

The Community Market is designed specifically for Compassion Acts clients who were previously members of our Food Pantry and now that their membership has ended would still like some support.

We hold a monthly market at 2 separate locations, where Community Market members can access a variety of items at a low-cost.

The market is also a way to maintain community connections. Many Pantry members form friendships through their time with us, and the Community Market provides a space for them to stay connected while remaining part of the Compassion Acts family.

This also is a way to ensure that members continue to move forward towards more stable situations and prevents them from slipping backwards.

How does it work?

Ex-Food Pantry Member

As previously mentioned, to join the Community Market all members must have already completed our Food Pantry membership and moved onto the Community Market (previously known as Next Steps).

Booking In

All members will receive a text message confirming that bookings for the Community Market are now open. Once the message has been sent, members can call to reserve a time slot for either the Tuesday or Saturday market.

Please note: bookings cannot be made until the text message has been issued. This ensures a fair and equal opportunity for all members to secure their preferred slot.

Items Available

All items available each month are subject to the donations we receive. Typically, this includes long-life and cupboard staples, household essentials such as toiletries, and a selection of fresh produce.

There’s a spending limit on each item category so there’s enough for everyone.
